Capturing 2020 Grads from the “Lost Year”

COVID-19

2020 has been a year unlike any other in our living history. As a father to two graduating students this year, I've been inspired to offer something new and unique.

R E T R O S P E C T I V E S

A free portrait program designed to give every Graduating student in Western Nevada County a chance to showcase what was lost through a one-of-kind 15 minute portrait session.

HOW IT WORKS

Sign up using the link below and we'll contact you to setup a day/time that works for you. Because of the overwhelming response, initial contact may take 1-2 weeks.

SAFETY

Portrait session done with all social distancing guidelines and no physical interaction between the photographer and the grad. Photographer will wear a mask for each portrait shoot and social distance. Safety is our #1 priority.

WHERE?

These mini-session photoshoots will be done at your home (outside) or school within Western Nevada County, CA

WHAT'S THE CATCH?

No catch at all! As a matter of fact, a complimentary 8x10 B&W print of your choice will provided a few weeks after the session.

HOW IT WORKS

Step 1 – Sign Up

Sign up using this link, fill out the form and we will contact you within a few days to setup a date, time, and location that works for you. Once an appointment date, time and location is set, we will confirm the appoint via text the day before.

Step 2 – Setup

Upon arrival, we will text you letting you know we have arrived. We will then discuss possible locations at your house or the location we are shooting at. We ask that you have the Portrait Release Form completely filled out, signed and ready. Kial will help pose you from at least 10′ away and will be taking all necessary safety precautions including wearing an N95 mask and gloves for each portrait session outside.

Step 3 – The Session

Sessions will take about 15-20 minutes and may include a canvas backdrop. Grads are welcome to wear an outfit of their choice; from cap and gown, sports uniform, letterman jacket, prom dress or nice apparel, or simply a T-shirt and jeans. Grads are encouraged to showcase what is important to them, e.g. dance shoes, sporting equipment, musical instrument, their personal artwork, etc… We want to showcase you and what is important to you during the “Lost Year”.  You will then hear back from us once all photos are processed, where a private website link will be provided for you to choose the photo of your choice. An 8×10 B&W print will shipped to you within a few weeks time after the shoot appointment.

How is this free? Is there a catch?

No catch at all. As a longtime area photographer and father of five beautiful children, two of which are graduating this year I wanted to find a way to give back to the community through my art. Having photographed thousands of students at multiple local schools over the years, I felt this was a unique way to give back, as inspired by photographer, Matt Mendelsohn who did a similar project in the Northeast.

IMPORTANT, PLEASE NOTE: This program is open to all graduating students within Western Nevada County (8th Grade, High School, College and Trade School). Excludes Truckee/Tahoe area (sorry!).

If you are inclined, you can book a complete Portrait Session.
